The events are a way for men to raise awareness in their community about the seriousness of violence against women and to raise funds in the process by collecting donations to walk a mile wearing red high-heeled shoes.
Proceeds raised in Halifax benefited Alice Housing, while funds raised by participants in New Minas were directed to Chrysalis House.
