The Real Estate Institute of Canada (REIC) recently announced the winners of the annual Pursuit of Excellence, which honours those members and chapters who take extra time and effort to further the advancement of the institute.
Among the 2003 are Michael Cousins of Toronto, winner of the J. A. Weber Award and presented to an individual who directly influenced the growth of an REIC Chapter. The O & Y Enterprise Excellence Award went to Joseph Ryan, of Mississauga, Ont., for having attained
the highest mark on the first submission of his Management Plan. The Morguard Literary Awards went to Ben Larsson, of Richmond, B.C. His winning article is entitled Condominium Management and is available for viewing at This award is given to a practicing industry lay writer and supported by Morguard Investments, who donate a $2,000 cash prize.
The REIC Community Service Award went to Barrie Hewstan of Victoria for demonstrating an outstanding commitment to the local community, through his volunteer services and charitable
work.
The Toronto Real Estate Board was recognized for its contributions toward promoting and supporting REIC’s goals and objectives. The REIC Corporate Citizen Award went to Midwest Property Management of Edmonton.
