The Manitoba Real Estate Association has launched a campaign aimed at promoting business investment in Manitoba.

MREA has developed a website and digital promotional campaign to highlight the advantages of investing in Manitoba within its network of 1.6 million Realtors in North America. Partners in the venture include the Manitoba government, Economic Development Winnipeg and the Rural Manitoba Economic Development Corp.

“We believe industry associations can play a valuable role in promoting Manitoba and attracting investment to our province,” says MREA CEO David Salvatore. “With initiatives like this campaign, we are honoured to do our part to support the tremendous work that the province and our economic development agencies do to create awareness of the opportunities that exist here. We are confident this campaign will provide a gateway for real estate industry leaders in North America to learn more from these experts.”

“Realtors are on the front lines of economic development opportunity every day,” says MREA Global Business Council chair David Powell. “This campaign is focused on our colleagues in the United States, specifically in the key trading markets of Minnesota and Illinois. Through targeted social media, we will promote the strengths of doing business in Manitoba to commercial Realtors and site selectors in these regions to help connect them with the resources and services to learn about the many competitive advantages of investing in our province.”

Heather Stefanson, premier of Manitoba, says, “Manitoba is open for business and as our economy emerges into a new era of growth, our government is proud to work collaboratively with industry and our economic development partners to increase competitiveness, attract investment, create jobs and spur economic growth. MREA plays an important role in our provincial economy and I want to commend their efforts to promote Manitoba’s investment advantage.”

“Our business community is tight-knit, and we work collaboratively to make opportunities for this city a reality,” says Dayna Spiring, president and CEO of Economic Development Winnipeg. “This is just another great example of how getting everyone moving in the same direction sets the foundation for more success. Winnipeg is perfectly positioned for more investment and we’re excited to leverage this new campaign as we work closely with the Manitoba Real Estate Association to drive growth in our city.”

RMED CEO Margot Cathcart says, “One of the core functions of RMED is to market the competitive advantages of Rural Manitoba. Alignment of projects and marketing opportunities with community stakeholders and government are crucial to developing capacity for rural economic development opportunities.”
