Every real estate transaction in Canada requires a lawyer or notary to process and close the deal. The process of delivering conveyancing instructions to law firms is a major pain point for real estate professionals because they need to complete it primarily through email or fax, which can be tedious, error-prone, and less secure than other modern methods.
Lone Wolf Technologies is announcing a brand-new integration with Dye & Durham Ltd., made specifically for CREA WebForms, powered by Transactions to bring access and communications with legal services directly into the Canadian national transaction management member benefit.
This new integration gives real estate professionals across Canada access to Dye & Durham’s Unity platform where available, so they can process and close deals without relying on email through access to the Dye & Durham lawyer contact database. It also allows them to send referrals to legal services through CREA Webforms directly to the Unity platform.

With the new integration, CREA WebForms’ super users can access the Canadian database of lawyer contact details, removing the need for users to maintain databases of their own. Details will be updated in real-time through the integration, so users will always have the most up-to-date contact information.

This integration will be free of charge for super users and is now available to Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick members.

I wonder how this will work as the documents are signed and then emailed to other side, then uploaded, sent out for signature, signed and emailed back and then reUploaded to be sent to lawyer sounds like a lot of duplicate work and duplicate data space.
As well as the fact that the lawyer contact information is often outdated in “the system”. It is usually not the lawyer who wants to receive it – in my experience we usually send it to the real estate administrator in a lawyer’s office. Would be nice if it works:)
