On Monday, March 4, Richard Elliot Wood, founder of Royal LePage R.E. Wood Real Estate in Tillsonburg, Ontario, passed away.
Royal LePage says Richard was an industry leader and a long-time member of its family.
Wood was born in 1952 and began his 50+ year career in real estate at just 19 years old. He had great success in selling residential, commercial and farmland in Southwestern Ontario.
In 1998, Wood became a Royal LePage franchisee in his hometown of Tillsonburg. Throughout his career, he also made large contributions to the Canadian industry, having served as president of the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) and the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA).
Wood’s loved ones will remember him as a caring community member and generous friend, known for helping others.
“Richard was a small-town real estate icon who made huge contributions on the provincial and national stage. The advice and counsel he provided me early in my time at the helm of Royal LePage was of inestimable value. Richard was a man who never stopped giving back. He will be missed,” says Phil Soper, president and CEO of Royal LePage.
