Making an impact, growing professionally, and meeting REALTORS® from across Canada are all opportunities you’ll have as a member of the Canadian Real Estate Association’s (CREA) volunteer board/operational committees.
Each year, CREA invites REALTORS® and board/association staff to apply to serve on one of its 10 committees, which act as resources to our Board of Directors and CEO on important topics.
Proudly representing more than 160,000 REALTORS®, CREA is pleased to provide its members with a tangible opportunity to help shape Canada’s real estate industry.
“Whether it’s a board or operational committee, we want their composition to reflect the amazing diversity of our national membership, with people from varying backgrounds and lived experiences at the table,” says Jill Oudil, Chair of CREA. “Their strategic input is critical to ensure we have the pulse of how REALTORS® across the country are feeling about subjects that impact them.”
All REALTORS® in good standing with CREA, as well as board and association staff, have until Friday, February 17, 2023, to submit their application for one of the following committees:
Board Committees:
- Environmental, Social and Governance
- Audit and Risk Management
- Federal Affairs
- Finance
- Governance and Bylaws
Operational Committees:
- Association Executives
- Broker Manager
- Marketing and Communications
- REALTOR® Code
- Technology
“Initially, I wasn’t sure I was ready to commit the time, but I wanted to explore my unique interests and positively influence outcomes for each member of our association,” says Matthew Honsberger, a broker-owner and REALTOR® based in Atlantic Canada. “It’s been massively rewarding and a great way to further your understanding of the business.”
More than 100 members from across the country will be called upon to fill the various committee positions.
