Realtors from Guelph, Ont. are stepping up in a show of support for women’s shelters across Canada.

Capstone Real Estate Professionals has initiated a local campaign named Flock 4 Hope with the goal of raising awareness and funds for the Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis (GWWIC) and the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation.

The Flock 4 Hope campaign, which runs until Aug. 31, aims to raise $5,000 for this summer alone, with all donations benefiting GWWIC and the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation.

The campaign takes a creative approach to fundraising. Donors who contribute $50 will have a vibrant flock of 12 flamingos dispatched to a friend or family member’s lawn anywhere in Guelph. For a $100 donation, a “double flock” of 24 flamingos will make a colourful appearance. The flamingos remain on the lawn for two days before being passed along to the next recipient.

Participants in the Flock 4 Hope campaign are encouraged to share their flamingo-filled lawns on social media using the hashtag #Flock4Hope. The campaign promotes a “flock it forward” approach, urging individuals to make donations and arrange for flocks to grace the lawns of others, amplifying the impact of this community-driven endeavour.

To donate, visit the campaign’s official page and join the Flock 4 Hope campaign.
