Manitoba Real Estate Association president Roberta Weiss says operative word is: Change

Roberta Weiss of Century 21 Bachman & Associates in Winnipeg is the 2015 president of the Manitoba Real Estate Association (MREA). She brings almost 30 years of real estate experience and passion to the job.

Weiss has served on 17 different volunteer committees and task forces since the late ʼ90s, as a leader in the areas of education, finance, insurance, sales and professional standards.

Career highlights include being a past sales division chairperson at Winnipeg Real Estate Board (WREB) and serving on the board of directors at WREB and the MREA Board of Directors. In 2009 and 2010, Weiss was chair of the Manitoba Real Estate Association Shelter Foundation, and currently sits on the board of governors.

As one of her first duties, Weiss led the charge to make sure MREA’s more than 2,100 Realtors were educated, equipped with tools and fully informed about the new Manitoba Condo Act, says the association.

“Change is the operative word this year. For some, change can be scary. We are all adapting to new forms and procedures and it is very important to remember that we are the professionals. It is up to us to educate buyers and sellers on their rights and obligations and make sure every real estate experience is a positive one,” Weiss says.
