Regina’s Wayne White receives Distinguished Realtor Award

The Association of Saskatchewan Realtors (ASR) in conjunction with Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp. (CMHC) recently presented Wayne White with the 2016 Distinguished Realtor Award. The award was presented by Earl Kotlar, CMHC’s manager of business development for the prairies and territories, at the ASR’s annual Quality of Life fundraising event in Saskatoon.

The award is granted each year to a Realtor who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and dedication to the real estate community through board involvement and community service.

White, a broker with Realty Executives Diversified Realty, “is a pillar in the real estate community,” says ASR. He has been a Realtor for 38 years and a broker since 1978. In 2007, White was awarded CMHC Realtor of the Year for Regina. He has served on various committees and at the director level for both the local and provincial associations, as well as the Saskatchewan Real Estate Commission.

He served as a member of the Wheat City Kinsmen for 12 years, spent four years in the Parkland Riding Club and coached hockey for 20 years. “In addition to these commitments, he always made time to canvas for the Kidney Foundation, the Cancer Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and come winter, you could count on seeing Wayne ringing bells for the Salvation Army,” says ARR.

“Wayne filled leadership positions on various boards, all the while working as a broker of his own office, exemplifying his great leadership and time management skills,” says co-worker and fellow Realtor Pauline Relkey. “This, and the support he shows his peers is part of why he is so well respected by others in the industry – whether the staff and agents in his own office or his peers in other offices and cities.”

Bill Madder, CEO of ASR, adds: “There is no question about Wayne’s dedication to the Realtor community. To have contributed as much as he has to the boards and his community – that’s what this award is all about, and Wayne is an obvious choice for Distinguished Realtor.”
