The Southern Georgian Bay Association of Realtors (SGBAR) recently presented cheques to various local charities representing proceeds of almost $7,000 from the Ontario Realtors Care Foundation – Every Realtor Campaign. The recipients were: Home Horizon, Huronia Transition Homes (La Maison Rosewood Shelter), My Friend’s House and Shelter Now.
“The Realtors Care Foundation is the legacy of every Realtor in this province,” says Kevin Woolham, president of the association. “It belongs to all of us. That’s why the Southern Georgian Bay Association of Realtors thinks it’s important to support its great work. Together we can make a difference… can effect positive change… and that’s just what our members will continue to do.”
In December, SGBAR members also donated more than $6,600 to provide 443 holiday turkeys for local families in need. The association partnered with local grocers who added additional pounds to each $15 turkey donated; the turkeys were then distributed by charitable organizations in each community.
The Freshco store in Collingwood and Foodland stores in Meaford, Midland, Penetanguishene, Stayner, Thornbury and Wasaga Beach took part.
