The Waterloo Region Association of Realtors (WRAR) presented a cheque for more than $43,000 to Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region (HFWR).

WRAR hosted its inaugural Charity Golf Tournament in support of Habitat for Humanity in September at Rebel Creek Golf Club in Petersburg, Ont. It was WRAR’s first official charity event since the August amalgamation of the Cambridge Association of Realtors and the Kitchener-Waterloo Association of Realtors.

“Both (associations) had strong traditions of charitable contributions, and as a new association, we are proud to continue this legacy,” says Megan Bell, president of WRAR. “The housing market is being reshaped, pushing home ownership out of reach for many community members. Realtors want to help make home ownership more accessible for everyone and are proud to support an organization like HFHWR that upholds this vision”.
