The Yorkton and District Council of Realtors (YDCR) raised more than $12,000 for Yorkton Habitat for Humanity.
Corey Werner, president YDCR’s Charity Golf Classic Committee, says this year’s tournament exceeded the group’s goals, with the help of many local businesses.
The money was presented to members of the Habitat and two members of the recipient families, Lisa Siat and Laurie Blackbird, who are slated to become the newest Habitat homeowners.
Werner says the YDCR could think of no better way to give back to the community than to help raise funds for housing for those who might otherwise have a difficult time acquiring their own home.
