Last year, over 100 Royal LePage professionals across Canada signed up for the company’s biannual Challenge for Shelter trekking fundraiser. Ecuador Challenge for Shelter took place in November to support local women’s shelters and national domestic violence prevention programs.
The challenge involved camping in tents at high altitudes for four nights and hiking the Andes Mountains for five days. This included getting to the base of one of the world’s highest active volcanoes, Mt. Cotopaxi.
In total, $1.7 million was raised will be split between each trekker’s local women’s shelter and community programs across Canada that teach youth how to build healthy relationships and avoid violence. The team also donated to the women’s shelter in Quito, Ecuador’s capital city, to show appreciation for the trek’s host country and solidarity that women everywhere deserve to be safe.
Capstone REPS teamwork and contribution
Royal LePage team members included Capstone REPS’ team lead, Michael Christie, and sales representative, Lynn Weller. They took the journey to raise funds for Royal LePage Shelter Foundation and Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis.
Of the total $1.7 million raised, Christie, Weller and the Capstone REPS team contributed over $60,000 to Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis and the Royal Lepage Shelter Foundation, through the company’s annual golf tournament and other initiatives.

The Capstone REPS team is very thankful to all who donated and supported their fundraising efforts.
