Century 21 Heritage Group was the first official sponsor of the horse and wagon rides at the Newmarket Farmers’ Market since its establishment in 1999.
The free rides took place on the second and fourth Saturday mornings of each month from June until October.
The horse and wagon rides started at the farmer’s market and took people on a 20-minute tour through the downtown historical district, sharing information on the town’s historical happenings and its heritage. Highlights included historical buildings, information about the 1837 Rebellion, heritage plaques and their significance, and ghost and haunting encounters.
The Farmers’ Market is a regulated operation with more than 40 vendors selling fresh produce, baked goods and homemade items throughout the season.
