Edmonton’s Re/Max Real Estate Beaumont merges with Re/Max River City

Re/Max Real Estate Beaumont in Edmonton recently was acquired by Re/Max River City’s broker/owner Shami Sandhu. Former Re/Max Real Estate Beaumont owner Maurice Biron is retiring from the real estate business but will continue to operate his accounting business part-time.

Re/Max River City opened 25 years ago on Saskatchewan Drive on the south side of Edmonton’s River Valley. From there, the group expanded into the south side of the city, Sandhu says. “Two years ago an opportunity came up for us to purchase the South Edmonton office on Calgary Trail just north of 23 Avenue,” he says. “There were some great synergies, and it was a great advantage for our associates to have two locations to work out of.”

He says the firm is one of the top performing brokerages in the city, totaling almost seven per cent of all Edmonton residential home sales. With the merger, it now has more than 130 sales reps.

Re/Max River City contributed $110,000 to local charities in 2014, including the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton.
