Avison Young has opened a new office in Munich, Germany. This is the company’s second office in Germany and fourth office in Europe. During the past six years, Avison Young has grown from 11 to 63 offices in 52 markets and from 300 to more than 1,700 real estate professionals in Canada, the U.S. and Europe.
Markus Bruckner is now a principal of Avison Young. He, along with Udo Stoeckl, who was previously named a principal based in Frankfurt, also become managing directors of Avison Young Germany GmbH.
Bruckner will head up the company’s Munich operations and focus on implementing the firm’s growth strategy in the region, while Stoeckl will lead the company’s efforts in Frankfurt. Bruckner will be responsible for growing a full-service commercial real estate platform in Munich and, in conjunction with Stoeckl, the rest of Germany through recruitment and acquisition. Bruckner will also manage the day-to-day operations of the Munich office.
Bruckner brings more than 20 years of commercial real estate experience to Avison Young. Prior to joining the firm, he served for 10 years as head of transactions for Real I.S. AG and three years as managing director of FHB Fondshaus Bayern Invest GmbH in Munich.
