REM received the following statement about the Brantford Regional Real Estate Association (BRREA)’s June 5 special general meeting (SGM) from David DeDominicis, president:
“At (the) SGM, members discussed a range of issues regarding how best to further our profession and serve the Brantford Region community.
Ultimately, the membership voted to install a new board. Both new and outgoing board members are committed to engaging with members in a transparent and collaborative way to ensure that the decisions taken, and the manner in which they are decided, are aligned with the will of the membership.
The new BRREA board of directors is:
- Matt Allman
- Chris Costabile
- Teri Davidson
- David DeDominicis (president)
- Alex Grinton
- Judy Lillico
- Jason Tangorra
- Joshua Wall
Our SGM saw an unprecedented level of member engagement, which is an inspiring indication of the dedication our members share for our profession and the value we bring to our community.”
Wanting one MLS system is one thing. Supporting a 10 year user agreement with the nation’s largest real estate board that owns and completely controls the software and its design for the system is simply folly and just asking for trouble.
It will become a very expensive regret when down the road, boards ultimately become dissatisfied with the hegemony and lack of input. This fight is just screaming for a Competitions Law challenge, that is inevitabile.
Only hegemonial aspirations stand in the way of a sharing agreement between ITSO and Proptx boards
Member engagement at the SGM level is a good thing and long overdue More is needed!
