There are millions of people in the world right now who are dreaming of coming to Canada. Within those millions there are hundreds of thousands of people who make efforts to come here. And of those hundreds of thousands, only a few thousand actually get to be immigrants to this magnificent country.
When immigrants land here, almost without exception, their first thoughts are of getting a home. A house of their own.
Regardless of whether immigrants arrive with pots of money to put cash on the barrel for a home or whether they are penniless, they are ready to do whatever it takes to buy a home. If that means working at Tim Hortons or McDonalds, driving a truck, cleaning hotel rooms, digging ditches, or any other non-skilled work for 25 years or more, they will do it. They will do it to pay the mortgage, whatever kind of house it is – free standing, condo, townhouse or otherwise.
Along the way they may buy cars or HDTV sets or furniture, but first and foremost is the purchase of a home.
Along the way and even when they finally get here, immigrants are prime targets for con artists and tricksters – bad people who take these folks as rubes for all kinds of schemes to separate them from their money.
You have to figure that by the time most immigrants get here these days, they will have probably already encountered all kinds of con artists telling them about short cuts and cheap ways they can get to Canada. So if nothing else, they are arriving wiser and wiser.
If there is one thing that is becoming clear to the masses world wide, including you and me, it is that there are no real short cuts. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is not true.
It seems to finally be setting in for everyone.
If you want something cheap, go to the dollar store. Just don’t expect whatever it is you are buying to work long or last for any length of time.
If you want something of good quality, go to a reputable store selling quality products. You will pay more but what you get will last a long time and work well.
If you need professional services, go to a professional. Get a real lawyer, not some guy who says he knows how the system works. Have your children educated by real teachers, not folks who have no other qualifications other than religious clap trap. Make certain the places you choose to provide you heat, electricity and water are reputable and provide licensed quality work, and not some guy or woman who says to you, I can get it for you cheap.
And above all when you buy your home, use the services of a Realtor. A real estate professional who is licensed. A sales representative who is committed by law to help you purchase a home, with high business standards and integrity.
These days even a starving artist knows not to buy coloured pencils cheap. They will probably contain lead paint and not provide good artwork anyway. If you want good art, you absolutely must start with a good artist who knows how to secure a good canvass, good brushes and paint or watercolours of the highest quality. From there you will get a masterpiece.
If you want a good home, you must start with a Realtor. A good Realtor will help you through the market, find the best values, and recognize good quality. From there you will get more than a house. You will get a wonderful home.
Today, no matter what people hear from people – I can do it for you cheap, why pay more, I know how it works, I’ve done this a hundred times, and all that other stuff when it comes to real estate, they aren’t buying the claptrap like they used to. Today people know more than ever before how important it is to deal with a Realtor.
Today, no matter what people hear from self-proclaimed business suggesting otherwise, there are more people than ever before who want to buy a home.
