In response to the growing demand for investment sales expertise in the apartment sector in Canada, JLL has hired the team of Michael Betsalel and Earl Kufner to join the firm’s multi-residential platform. Betsalel and Kufner will cover the Ontario marketplace and provide leadership and guidance to JLL’s national multi-residential investment team, the company says.
“The multi-residential sector has provided investors with the most stable asset class over the last 20 years and continues to attract much private, institutional and foreign capital,” says Brett Miller, president, JLL Canada. “Toronto is the largest multi-residential market in Canada and we are thrilled to bring on Michael and Earl, who are both very experienced and highly qualified apartment specialists to service this active market.”
Betsalel comes to JLL from Colliers, joining as senior vice president and sales representative. Betsalel developed the Colliers Apartment Team in 2005 and has completed nearly $1 billion worth of transactions. Before completing his MBA, Betsalel spent five years in management with a Fortune 500 organization. He has spent the past 11 years focused exclusively on multi-residential investment brokerage in the Greater Toronto Area.
Kufner, who also comes from Colliers and joins as senior vice president and sales representative, has 17 years of experience in commercial real estate in Toronto and has assisted in approximately $1.2 billion worth of transactions. Specializing in commercial property sales with an emphasis on the sale of multi-residential properties, Kufner’s primary market is the central Greater Toronto Area.
