The Motion CL900 Tablet PC, now available from Telus.
Telus recently released the Motion CL900 Tablet PC, a mobile, connected tablet that runs the Windows 7 Professional operating system. Designed for business, the 10.1″ tablet PC weighs less than 1kg. It offers up to eight hours of battery life.
“The majority of Canadian businesses use a Windows platform to manage their day-to-day activities. The Motion CL900 Tablet PC solves some of the key issues our business customers are facing when working in the field or moving around an office by allowing them to run the Windows applications they depend on through a mobile, large-screen tablet that is both robust and lightweight,” says Jim Senko, Telus vice-president of small and medium business.
The tablet PC can integrate and run business applications, be deployed across multiple locations and is designed for people who work outside of a typical office environment, such as real estate agents, those on a construction job site, in a home healthcare environment or on the road, the company says.
Equipped with a Corning Gorilla Glass screen to protect against scratches, the unit has been tested to withstand drops up to four feet.
REM tested a model and found it easy to learn its features and work with. If you have yet to switch from a laptop to a tablet, the biggest challenge is learning to get along without a separate keyboard. The tablet comes with a digitizer pen, hidden in a nifty compartment on the side, and it’s easier to use than tapping your fingers on the screen. When you need to enter information to, for example, visit a website, you can use the pen and included Windows software to write in the address.
The tablet is available at Telus with a price starting of $999 on a three-year contract.
The unit also has a rear-facing 3.0 MP documentation camera and front facing 1.3 MP web camera for video conferencing, several onboard connectivity options, connectivity via Gobi, integrated Bluetooth and WLAN, system memory of 2 GB 800 MHz DDR2, and 30 GB drive for storage.
