Re: CREA moves to protect integrity of MLS (June):

I am glad that finally, our leaders in the organized real estates have the courage to say, “we have had enough” to our government.

The saddest thing in our industry is the continued erosion of our hard‑earned commission in the name of competition.  If this trend is not tempered by our own real estate organizations, we shall have no one to turn to, and likely one day we’ll be listing and selling a property for $100 or even less.

I strongly believe that despite the various governmental rules and Acts, we have the right to protect the integrity of our valued MLS and our commission by excluding zero-commission listings from our system.

I wholeheartedly agree with the directors of the CREA to establish a legal defense fund for challenging the governmental Acts in order to  protect our system.

I believe it is about time that organized real estate should be acting more militantly to fight for the survival of our livelihood, and if the laws are unreasonable, we should lobby collectively for the politicians to change them.
