I am in total agreement with Mr. Kirschner on this most critical issue. I would like to suggest that we collectively go one step further and ensure that our MLS databases not be made available to non-members at any price, at any time. These databases are our stock in trade and we pay dearly, as individual members, to gather, input, organize, understand and disseminate this material. It is a critical function of our daily business. Why give away, or sell, the key to the store?
If we compromise the security and integrity of these databases by allowing the general public or others, whose interests may conflict with our industry’s interests, to have access to this information, our careers are in jeopardy and that’s not the TV game show that I have in mind.
