Walk a Mile in Her Shoes participants in Fredericton.

After a postponement due to tropical storm Arthur in July, organizers from Royal LePage Gardiner Realty in Fredericton were grateful for the unseasonably sunny and warm weather when they sponsored the first annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event recently.

Sixty-two male participants collected pledges and walked a route through the community’s downtown beginning and ending at Fredericton’s historic City Hall, wearing the event’s signature red high heels, to raise awareness of gender-based violence. The event raised $15,862 for Fredericton’s Women in Transition House.
