HomeLife Realty (Guelph) Limited recently held a garage sale fundraiser to support Guelph’s Michael House and its Home for Generations project.

“It’s important to us here at HomeLife to give back to the community through fundraising initiatives such as this garage sale,” says sales rep Maria Annable, the event co-ordinator.

Michael House Pregnancy Care Centre provides shelter and support for pregnant and parenting young women and their babies in the community.

The funds will be used for A Home for Generations, a new supportive housing program. It will accommodate up to eight mothers who have completed the residential program, allowing them to live independently and responsibly on their own and benefit from continued access to the services that Michael House offers.

It will foster a sense of community and lessen the isolation that single mothers living below the poverty line or without familial support often experience.
