Wayne Jewell, broker of record at Sutton – Diamond Realty in Dorchester, Ont. knows first-hand the struggles of his neighbours. He says many local manufacturing jobs have been lost in the area in recent years, and as a result, one in five children go to school hungry or malnourished. Just prior to the new school year, Jewell contributed his entire $4,000 commission from a recent transaction to a local food bank.

“We have a great need here,” says Jewell. “I challenge others, including Realtors across the country, to contribute what they can.  Too many children are going to school hungry.”

He gave $2,000 each to the Corner Cupboard Food Bank in Aylmer and the Dorchester Food Bank.
