This summer, Richard Whittaker of Sutton Group – Associates Realty in Toronto will embark on the 600 km Friends for Life bicycle rally from Toronto to Montreal. This will be his fourth time completing the event in support of the People with AIDS Foundation (PWA).  Whittaker hopes to raise more than $5,000.

Prior to the trip, Whittaker planned to host an evening of music, dance and burlesque at the Buddies in Bad Times Theatre. Performers were scheduled to include musical groups The Ruby Spirit, Carrie Chesnutt, High Heels Lo Fi and Amanda Morra, and cabaret entertainers Skin Tight Out of Sight and Boylesque T.O.

During the past three years, Whittaker has collected more than $8,000 for PWA.  The foundation provides practical information and support services, such as a food bank and treatment programs, to many of the 18,000 people living with HIV/AIDS in Toronto.

In preparation for the rally to Montreal, he bicycled almost every day for training and as an eco-friendly form of transportation. Many of his clients share his concern for the environment by riding bicycles and seeking out sales reps like Whittaker at www.bicycleagents.com.  The website suggests that homebuyers can “experience a neighbourhood at a human scale” by walking and bicycling.
