Sales reps and staff at Royal LePage Lannon Realty in Thunder Bay, Ont. partnered with their local Basketeers chapter to bring gifts of hope to women seeking shelter and new beginnings after experiencing domestic violence.

The group reached out to clients, business partners, friends and family and filled 107 laundry-sized baskets with household and personal items for women, all of which were delivered to local shelters Faye Peterson Transition House and Beendigen.

“This act of kindness and generosity can give women living in shelters a sense that somebody out there is cheering them on as they rebuild their life,” says Darlene Dundas, office administrator at Royal LePage Lannon Realty. “Each item offers a gift of hope and encouragement to survivors as they enter this new phase of their life.”

Over the course of their partnership with the Basketeers program, the brokerage has collected more than 376 baskets, generating more than $83,000 in items for women in transition.
